Tibetan thangka master Kaerzhu Chizeng Raodan, a representativeinheritor of the Menri (sMan thang) and Zhangzhung painting traditions,presents The Pulse of the Earth: Faces and Echoes of the Himalaya,an exhibition of his representative works from recent years. Organisedinto three sections—"Tradition and Transmission," "Experiment andBreakthrough," and "Legacy and the Future"—the exhibition showcaseshis practice in thangka inheritance, contemporary exploration, and arteducation.

The pulse of the Himalaya nurtures the unique culture of the snowlandplateau. Rooted in traditional techniques, Chizeng Raodan integratesthe pictorial language of the Menri school with the historical depth ofZhangzhung culture, while drawing inspiration from Himalayan culturalsymbols to explore thangka's expression in a contemporary context.

Thangka, blending history, philosophy, aesthetics, and folklore, is hailedas an "encyclopaedia of Tibetan culture." In Chizeng Raodan's works,fine lines,richcolouring, and unfolding pictorialnarratives togetherreveal the profound heritage and contemporary vitality of fine traditionalChinese culture.

Through the systematic presentation of three sections, the exhibitioninvites audiences to step into the world of thangka's lines, colours, andimagery—to witness how an artist uses the brush as a medium toconnect ancient tradition with contemporary expression, and to explorethe future of thangka art between creation and teaching.
